SOTU Factcheck is currently seeking insight from anyone interested in organizing news for public consumption. Follow us on AngelList for updates.
We have created a prototype to give you a rough sense of what the project could look like. (Note: It has mixed performance on mobile devices).
Designers, programmers, journalists, researchers. We need them all! Let us know if you're interested in joining or advising us.
Other fact checkers pick and choose what they check. We'll examine every fact, big or small. We'll highlight them — in the context of the full transcript — according to how true they are (red=false, green=true, etc). If we can't check any given fact, we'll explain why.
Click on a fact to see the analysis that supports our truth rating. Rather than long, boring articles, we'll display interactive infographics and visuals that cite original sources and raw data. And we'll include context for you to explore and use to come to your own conclusions.
The address touches upon many complex issues, so this undertaking would require a lot of research and time. We'll check the 2013 addresses in months, then use the skills, graphs and data we develop to quickly check the 2014 addresses within days of their delivery.
